Grow where you are

The other day I was reviewing someone’s blog and noticed how many people they had following their post.

Without warning the comparison voice began to whisper at me about how they were better because of certain things and that I was not a good writer.

It was  2 minutes of going back and forth about what I was doing wrong and what made them better than me before I shut things down in my head.

First I have no idea who that person really is, and second, they could have a great gift to write that I don’t.

All of us are given a measure of talents we use, what comes easy for one does not come easy for another.

Being able to appreciate the work of another person without comparing or being jealous takes maturity and a healthy view of oneself.

Everyone must realize what their strengths are and work it to the fullest.

The blog post reminded me that we can not be great at everything, and it is alright to be good.

Some people are amazing at math but have poor people skills, while some have great people skills but are not good at reading.

Next time you are tempted to compare yourself to someone “STOP” there is no comparison need!

If you can remind yourself daily to grow where you are, and celebrate others as they grow life can be beautiful.

Happy Tuesday:)
