The voice of shame is silent

Woke this morning, encouraged and inspired.

Not long ago my days were filled with stress and drama.

There were things taking place in my life out of my control.

Some days I would wake up refresh, and other days exhausted.

We all have those days we don’t want to get up but just lay there.

Today my mind is very clear.

The voice of shame is silent.

Shame has a way of giving narration to areas of your life to keep you stuck.

For so many years I had no idea what was taking place.

I would be great.

Out of nowhere, this crazy narration would start to take place, making me second guess myself.

Shame brings harsh judgment and condemnation upon a person.

Perhaps you were like me, unaware of what the voice was.

I want to share how it sounds so you can identify it.

Shame.

  1. You are not good enough
  2. No one cares about what you are doing or you
  3. You are dumb and will never accomplish anything
  4. Why would someone want to marry you
  5. You will never be like them

Those are just small samples of how the voice may sound in your head.

Once you are able to identify the voice of shame you must begin to disarm it.

Here are some tips to disarm shame.

  1. Resist the urge to become depressed
  2. When it speaks negative about you, speak positively about yourself
  3. Share with someone you trust what you are dealing with, shame hates the light.
  4. Pay attention to your triggers that alarm shame
  5. Create a healthy dialogue about your life and self that is surrounded in love

I am no expert, but I have experienced this life-threatening monster called shame.

Do not allow yourself to become silent or distant, build your circle of love.

You are good enough!
