Rice & Beans

There are some things in life that really go great together.

Growing up I loved peanut butter and jelly.

Well I still love it, I just do not eat it often.

A rainy day and a good book go together or a nap.

Then there are things that do not look like they would go together but do.

Do you know sour cream is good on potatoes and other dishes?

How about those rice and beans?

You may not be a fan, but you can not deny many people love it.

They say opposite always attract and that is true.

If you look at your best friend in the past or present, there are radical differences between you both.

Perhaps you are married, your spouse is totally not like you in any way.

I am discovering every day that there are some odd things I need that are so opposite of me.

Have you ever thought about doing an activity  that is so out of your character?

How about mixing your wardrobe up with prints that you thought would not work, but ended up looking amazing!

Being able to have an open mind is so important for growth.

Allowing ourself the opportunity to be exposed to people, places and things causes you to be more diverse.

Try not to say you do not like a thing you have never tried.

Think twice about avoiding people.

Take time to become more approachable, and less guarded.

Looking back on my life, I realize how many wonderful people I would have missed if I closed my mind.

What we view as odd,  just may be complementary to our life.
