Jumping rope is a great childhood memory of mine.
Fun is the first word I would use to describe jumping rope.

It took coordination of jumping, turning the rope and rhythm to make it all work.
Counting how many times you could jump without stopping was the challenge.
How I loved to hear myself count out loud as I jumped in the air so the rope would not hit my feet.
Just writing this blog has me smiling.
I am having flashback of the little girl I was.
If only we could keep the same mindset when it came to working out.
Where did the fun go?
It seems the older I get the more I must workout, but the challenge is real.
Running was one of my favorite things, but now I only imagine myself looking crazy and trying to catch my breath!
When did the physical things we loved to do become work?
I want to return to that child like mindset where it is all fun.
Perhaps its the reality that I have to do it, and when I was younger I wanted to do it.
One is set in work while the other is set in fun.
Believe me I am trying to sike myself up to getting fit as fun thing to do.
Honestly my mind still has to agree daily to working out.
I know I am not alone with this exercise thing..can I get some help in here (LOL)
True story…
At the beginning of the year I committed to doing a 5K run.
My training began good in January then I went on my trip, stayed up on course a bit.
Now it is February and I am back to starting over.
I am determined to be prepared and not allow myself any excuses for not running in August.
Today is a new start because I am openly sharing and being vulnerable.
No one can get help if they do not admit they need it.
Exercising has been something I always liked.
Weight training is some thing I need to do as well.
Yup I am out here so I might as well just leave everything on the table.
My long-term vision is OPTIMUM HEALTH..yes I capitalized it because that is how I say it in my head.
Anyway, I have never been a couch potato or anything.
I believe in moving, walking, dancing around and giving my body some kind of work out.
I read that our bodies need to be challenged in new ways, because it gets accustomed to the old routine.
My mind is being conditioned currently so I can move in the direction needed in order to reach my goals.
Not knowing what to do is not my problem, I know what to do.
As I am writing this blog I am laughing at myself because I need to walk 2 miles on the treadmill.
Reaching the goals is a must!!
Not allowing excuses to stagnate my progress is a mandatory!
Moving intentionally towards my body being stronger is a mandatory!
If you give yourself an inch of lazy it will take days of lazy..lol
Now you know where I am and what I am working towards.
It is time to awaken the little girl in me who loves to run, jump rope and simply have fun.

No I will not call it exercising, it will be fun time for OPTIMUM HEALTH!
Tell me how you are doing reaching your health and fitness goals?
