I did it to myself

Procrastination.

Abandonment

Over worked.

Neglect.

Lack of Discipline

Those are some words that best describe some of our behaviour towards ourself.

The outcome in many situation is really in our power to change, unfortunately some of us make the wrong choices.

You may think, that is a person who cuts or hurts themself on purpose.

Not far from being accurate.

To inflict means to cause pain.

It is not apparent that pain is associated with certain decisions when made.

Often we experience pain from the outcome of our choices..

For example, we have a family history of heart disease yet we allow stress and poor diet to be our choice.

Once we begin having health problems we must face that it was self infliction that did this.

There are so many things we can avoid if we just take time to be wise in our conquest of life.

Pain is apart of life, but there is no worst pain than the ones we bring on ourself.

We must all take a moment to reflect on what could have been avoided had we made better choices.

Financial hardship can be avoided in most circumstances if we plan, prepare, and say no to certain pleasures that sabotage our future.

I recall years ago, a day that changed my life.

As I was walking, my heart began to palpitate really fast and shooting pain was going through out my body.

It shook me quite a bit.

I thought I was having a heart attack.

Once I returned home I prayed about what had taken place.

God revealed to me, I had abused my body and the pain was my result.

That ladies and gentlemen is what we called SELF INFLICTED wounds.

You see I was guilty just like you.

Whenever we lie to ourself that we will avoid the consequences of poor decision we will feel the results.

The good news is this…

We have all power to change our behaviour moving forward.

It is not a life sentence to remain in our state of self infliction.

Once you recognize your error, prepare to survive through the fruit of what you planted.

Start right away to become intentional on self-love in your life.

Start drinking water.

Stop staying up late at night and go to bed.

Start a budget and stick to it.

Stick to what you say you will do.

Start now, instead of procrastinating.

Build your relationships, so you are not left alone.

Yes we must change our mindset.

Yes we must change our behaviour.

Yes we must take full responsiblity for our choices.

Yes we must navigate with wisdom.

Yes we must face the consequences when we make poor decision.

Today is a new day!

Use this moment to face your facts…what have you created in your life that really is self infliction.

Once you own, “I did this to myself.”

You can free yourself from guilt and shame with a renewed mind!
