Most of what we do is about our now. We may have started out with a future thought but it soon gets swallowed up by life’s responsibilities.
When we were younger we only cared about the moment, and anyone who would stand in our way of enjoying that time we would dislike.
Today all grown up, with children of my own, business, a home, and lots of responsibilities I easily get entangled in the now timeline.
This post is not about all that I know, but more about the mistakes I have made. You see I was once a great planner. One who thought much about the future down to small details. Some where between the first child and the last one, I was just focus on living day by day. Living day by day is not a wrong or right concept, it’s a survivors mentality.
How much of what we do can be categorized as surviving? Some days we are looking for the light at the end of the tunnel; a metaphor for better days to come!
The very word seeing is defined as to perceive with the eyes, to view; to look at; to discern and understand. Now with that understanding of what seeing means I want to open up you mind to a clear place of understanding.
Days go really fast these days, so much of our living is done in a pattern that represents a marathon. We are always running and most of the time wondering where is the finish line.
Running only becomes a waste of time if we are not able to see the prize. Like all humans we strive for rewards and when there is none it’s just using energy and time for nothing.
How great would it be if we slowed down enough and allowed ourself to daydream. What would happen if we created a world that was beyond the one we now lived in. There are probably things you wanted to do when you were younger that you have forgotten. Recall the memories that made you smile and st times giggle for the joy that it would bring.
Being able to see beyond the moment you are living in at times can release pressure and stress. Breathe in and out and recall better days to come.
Life was meant to live one day at a time; where we would maximize moments that would leave us fulfilled and growing.
Today pause and ask yourself, “what else would I be doing if I had my way?” Would life be the same for you and I if we stopped and looked beyond the now…
