When our emotional health is in a bad state, so is our level of self-esteem. We have to slow down and deal with what is troubling us, so that we can enjoy the simple joy of being happy and at peace with ourselves. -Jess C. Scott
What is that? This question refers to what am I feeling, and how to identify and move through it instead of getting stuck.
This month I want to really focus on emotional intelligence. While most of us are good at what we do, we may lack understanding in what we feel and how to relate to others.
What is emotional intelligence?
An emotionally intelligent individual is both highly conscious of his or her own emotional states, even negativity—frustration, sadness, or something more subtle—and able to identify and manage them. Such people are especially tuned in to the emotions tht others experience. It’s understandable that a sensitivity to emotional signals both from within oneself and from one’s social environment could make one a better friend, parent, leader, or romantic partner. Fortunately, these skills can be honed.
