“A small step gives you the confidence to make a big step. And a big step gives you courage to run.” John H. Johnson
Thousands of people have started their businesses or created another source of income during this year. Who wants to be stuck waiting on another person to secure their future!
As I listen to the news, read certain blogs or social media post, we hear the bad but there are some good messages as well. Information that equips us to start over, reset our life or provide answers for the future.
It is no easy task to rebuild or revise our life. While some are setting things in place, others are mourning the loss of more than employment.
The question of where do we go from here has been a theme song most of us have played in the background of our life daily since March. I don’t have all the answers but I can provide some encouragement.
Today you may or may not have a plan or strategy for your next, and it is really ok. Take the time you need to process, plan, and prepare. Try not to compare your life to anyone else’s because that will drive you crazy.
What you can do is think deeply, and clearly about what matters and where you want to be. Start with baby steps in the direction you want to go. Remember none of us have ever experienced this type of pandemic so take your time.
Having a grandson who is a one year old toddler has reminded me how the process looks to learn a new skill or develop in areas I never used before.
When we first begin to use motor skills, thinking patterns we have not operated in before we must be prepared for small falls that come with the process. You will use more energy and focus because it is new.
As I watch my grandson walk around the house I hear him making these cute noises as he discovers certain things. The beauty of the story is these things were always in our home they were not at his level of sight to see it. His walking has taken him on a new adventure and that is how the steps you take will be for you.
Although the world we are living in is not the one you are accustomed to, there is still so much wonder to learn if you stay open.
Have you started making you footprints for your future?
How does the steps look moving forward?
