We have made it into the second half of the year!
The first half of this year felt like a Sci-Fi series and we were the main characters. I still remember waking up for weeks, listening to media and hearing the status of the world and being flooded with a mixture of emotions. It took some time to really process that we had entered a pandemic and life as we all knew it was at a stand still and about to transition into a foreign world. Here we are five months later.
Today I awoke with such excitement and expectation about July. I am not sure why this month represented new beginnings for me but it did. Perhaps we all need to focus on better days and that is what I am doing.
July I welcome you with open arms, although I have no clue what you will bring us yet I am optimistic.
For those who may be wrestling with assorted emotions, use this month to feel your way to freedom. Create small pockets of moments that will allow you to unload and process what you need to move forward.
I want to encourage everyone to not bypass their mental health dealing with this pandemic. Go ahead and take that staycation and unplug to unleash what you had no time to do last month.
Why not schedule playdates with a friend or two for fun and no responsibility. (use wisdom)
In July, I plan to cry a little, laugh a lot, love hard, and continue to reach out to those in my family and community.
Life really changes quickly without our warning, so let’s all be intentional on what we do this month.
Let me encourage you to dream BIGGER, or dream again. Although the past six months may have resembled a nightmare the rest of your year does not have to.
Take this month one day at a time.
Take time to grieve the past.
Take time to laugh.
Take time to smile and recall good times.
Take time to love, touch, and celebrate the life of those still here.
Take July as a gift.
Stay safe. Use wisdom.
Welcome to July!
