Growing up I was taught to be responsible with my money. Good stewardship included paying my bills, saving my money and giving.
Fast forward to being an adult who has practiced all that she was told but over the years wondered where is the money?
Have you mastered paying bills (I have a PHD in it lol) and want to know how to to get more money without doing anything illegal?
I am not a financial advisor but had to take control over my relationship with money and want to share my journey.
We all want more money, but some of us go about it the wrong way including myself.
Because my information about money was limited so was my bank account. I was taught if you work hard for a certain amount of time you would eventually accumulate money. This believe system may work but the key word is HARD!
On my quest for knowledge I have discovered some things that were blocking plugging up my money flow.
First I was not fully in charge of the relationship, money was. I had to reverse our roles so I was in charge and money was working for me instead of me working for it.
When we have a one sided relationship in life someone comes up short and that is exactly what was happening in my life.
Now it’s your turn to reverse the roles and become in charge of your finance. Its ok to be nervous because this is new but you got this.
Next thing I acknowledged was my limited thinking and knowledge about a subject I thought about so often in my day.
Facing your ignorance, acknowledging you dont know what you dont know; start to make a plan to empower yourself would be next. Time to become a student, stop faking and start learning. Our mindset must be renewed to change our behavior.
Being open to change can be uncomfortable and requires discipline, an action plan and new keys to unlock the life you want.
Like anything in life we must learn the language, definitions and study to understand as well as how to apply it to our life for the results we want.
One major move in seeing the “MONEY” is saying no to self sabotaging desires that work against you and not for you. If you are accustom to going with emotional purchases you will need to mature and handle your money business with authority.
If you only live once, why live life in debt, wishing for more, working like a slave and paying bills until you die? There is a better way!!
Have you noticed I did not mention going to see a debt consolidation company? Although it is good to seek counsel,(and you shoud) I want to admonish you to also seek therapy to get into the root of the fruit in order to break the cycle.
Remember I shared this is a relationship and in any relationship there can be unhealthy cycles.
Most people know how to work for money but the challenge is how to keep most of the money.
Another major thing I discovered on the journey was not to work for money, but have money work for me. That looks like me creating streams of incomes instead of just having one job and working over time or having two or more jobs. Money working for you uses your passion and strength to create revenue generated income in different ways.

There is so much goodness ahead of you concerning your relationship with money. Remember to keep learning, applying what you know and make small steps towards your financial freedom not just being debt free. They are two different things. I will share more about that on my next blog.
