It is not always easy to let go and move forward but staying stuck can cause us to become a victim to the things we are emotionally attached to.
Being human means making decisions about what we keep and what we leave behind in order to create a healthy life or to simply reach our goals.
You may be asking yourself how do I let go?
Let me start by saying it is not always easy and will require full commitment, dedication, courage, and resilience.
Here are some top “Letting Go” practices I put in place to move forward.
- Acknowledge my mental and emotional state to see if I am avoiding really facing the facts of what is taking place or being optimistic without reality.
- Journal my thoughts, this is a process I use to get out of my head the crazy conversations I am having.
- Grieve any loss that may have occurred. Be careful not to get stuck in the stage called anger.
- Seek help, speak with a professional, friend or pastor if you are really having a difficult time processing your life.
- Revisit your life statement if you wrote one (this would include your why and mission for your life). This will remind you of your vision, and awaken your “WHY” if you have forgotten it.
- Revise the areas in your life that does not fit anymore. An example would be an old routine you used from your last place of employment to keep your life in order.
- Be patient as you discover your new normal, it takes time.
- Celebrate small wins in your day for what you release and what you implement in your life that affects your progress and growth.
- A good cry every now and then may make you feel better. Do not keep toxic emotions bottled up.
What things have you done to let go so you can #moveforward?
Happy Monday:)
