For a long time, it bothered me deeply about things I could not change or control.

For instance, when my children were younger I wanted them to all be neat, and follow simple rules that makes life easy. But there would always be that one child who would push the rules or ignore them.

Another huge thing that I thought I could control was my life and everything that happened. Yes, I was really naive when I was younger.

I seriously believed that once you made a plan, things would fall into place because that was what those wise adults taught me.

What do you do when your life is turned upside down and everything you planned crumbles?

Most people did not talk about those moments so I had to figure it out through trial and error. I did alot of crying, being angry, obsessing over what I lost and was committed to being miserable.

There was no motivation to make lemons into lemonade, just a pity party filled with bitterness.

I can not remember when my attitude adjustment came, whenever it happened was right on time.

The major lesson I learned was to stop waiting for the change to take place in my life and to begin changing my attitude about my life.

Being able to reconceptualize my thoughts also empowered me to change my behavior.

Things were not getting better overnight, yet it felt as if overnight things were better. Seeing good things, smiling more crying less, as well as giving thanks made each hour bearable.

When we make the decision to renew our point of view on life, we actually see important things we never saw before.

A reset had taken place within me concerning living and making better choices, especially on my most challenging days.
