For the past two weeks, I have been feeling challenged in writing on my blog.
There has been so much going on my mind was on overload.
Today I read a blog post that really encouraged me and helped me as well.
Being an entrepreneur is great, and challenging at the same time.
Having to wear all the hats and do the many jobs required gets overwhelming at times.
There are days I don’t even get dressed because of the workload.
In my mind its just me at work in my create/office space, so who is going to judge me?
When that creative flows hit, being cute is the last thing on your mind.
Lately, I have been focusing on what is meaningful rather than what is urgent.
Simply making an action plan to conquer meaningful over urgent has given me more time, and peace.
Some times we are so busy jumping into urgent things we miss what is meaningful.
Here is an example to help you understand what I mean; this past weekend our oldest son turned 30 years old.
During the week I had a long list of action task to accomplish because I would be going out of town. Instead of working on my urgent list, I selected to spend all the time I could with our son who came home from New York to be with family.
We had such a wonderful time celebrating, laughing and sharing it added more to my life than expected.
Being unaware of my need for quality time with those I loved resulted in replenishing.
Monday when I woke up I felt alive and ready to tackle what life was bringing.
My list was not shorter, but I was refueled to handle it.
Perhaps what the weekend revealed was simply that I was closer to being empty and the moments away from responsibilities refilled me.
If you are like me, you probably can accomplish many things close to empty.
I would like to encourage you to pause and take some quality time that adds to your life.
Do some meaningful things that make you smile, laugh, and better.
Remember to add M for meaningful or U for urgent to your action plans, and begin to discover a world of greater peace as you produce.
