From element to the destination

As I was walking this morning at the bay cold air hit my face as ice chips being thrown at me.

The brisk breeze that was blowing was not expected.

As I took my next few steps on the crushed shells that created the path near the water chills ran through my body.

I looked ahead at the distance to review how far I wanted to go.

Within the next few moments that passed, I had to make a decision.

This wind was not going to stop, therefore I would be cold the whole walk.

I had anticipated a warm brisk walk, but I was met with a cold brisk wind.

One more time I looked ahead, as the next wind hit my face I said these words; “I will not go back but keep walking.”

Proceeding to move forward as a champion something dramatically happened.

The cold was still the same, the wind still hitting my face like ice chips.

My focus went from the element to the destination.

Within minutes I had gone from victim to my surroundings to victor.

Continuing to walk along the same path, I focused on the scenery, the way I felt and enjoyed each step.

After walking for 40 minutes, the thoughts began to pour in.

How many times have the elements, or environment stopped most of us?

When I refocused from what I felt to where I wanted to go everything changed just like that.

My attitude was positive and joyful.

The sun was my best friend and the wind my ally.

I want to encourage you today to become aware of how elements and environments affect your decisions.

Start reviewing areas in life that you may have quit prematurely.

Turn things around by using your focus in the positive for the outcome you want.
