Purple Rain

Prince was one of the artists I liked as a teenager.

He was unique in how he showcased his talents and himself.

Some would say he was cool, or different.

For me I still recall the movie and song;

Purple Rain.

It was filled with drama.

Most love stories are filled with small drama.

My life currently is filled with drama.

Today my mind thought about the song, Purple Rain.

I looked up what that meant just out of curiosity and here is what I found;

Purple Rain as a need or want to be free from a place, responsibility, or emotion.

Another interpretation said it referred to the end times, being with your loved ones, and allowing God/faith to guide you.

After reading this I laughed out loud.

The definition described exactly how I was feeling.

The end of things, sadness, and loss of more than I expected, now I needed my faith in God to carry me through.
Purple Rain is something we would never see.
But we face unexpected things that startle and shake us.
No matter what the meaning behind the song, there was sorrow and loss.
Being able to deal with your reality takes courage.
Being present in your life’s drama is a choice.
No matter what is taking place on your journey, do not check out.
Surround yourself with people who will be your support.
As I reminded myself today, I am not alone.
Choose to let the right people in.
Whatever your Purple Rain today, use your faith to carry you through.
