How many have us have experienced that over the top tired moment in the middle of the day?
It feels like your energy is slowly being drawn out of your body by an invisible hose.
You try everything to stay awake.
That invader call sleepy is determined to hold you captive until you give in.
But the more you fight the more drowsy you become.
The air is slowly departing from your lungs, leaving you vulnerable.
Without warning, you yawn one last time, and your eyes begin to close.

You are completely surrendered.
The power nap takeover is a success!
But wait, there is so much good from taking a power nap.
Let me share with you what I found on the web 🙂
Facts about Power Naps
- Power Naps Boost our brains, including improvements to creative problem solving, verbal memory, perceptual learning, object learning, and statistical learning.
- They help us with math, logical reasoning, our reaction times, and symbol recognition.
- Naps improve our mood and feelings of sleepiness and fatigue. Not only that, napping is good for our heart, blood pressure, stress levels, and surprisingly, even weight management.
- A power nap is anywhere from 10- 20 minutes.
- Most naps are taken between 1pm-4pm (Yup that is when it hits me)
We can not all take naps every day, but if you get the opportunity you should go for it.
Have you ever seen a baby or toddler who has not had their nap?
Oh my goodness, it’s a crying, out of control, whining sound that only sleep can fix.
Being adults we may not cry, but we sure do get cranky and short.
Most conflicts at work could be solved if they allowed nap time..lol
On a serious note… stay alert to your own behaviour during the day.
If you discover you are overwhelmed by sleep, and you can slip away on lunch or break and close your eyes, do it!
It is called “POWER NAP” for a reason.
