Courtesy is defined as excellence of manners, or social conduct.

In today’s society we may not encounter courtesy as often as we should.
Not to say there is none, just not enough.
This leads me to my thought on casual.
The word casual means unexpected, or happening by chance.
When we leave intentional courtesy it is replaced but casual courtesy.
Why am I writing about this subject you may wonder?
For me it is visible that gallantry is limited in society.
Some thing as simple as holding the door for the next person is nice.

How about the old school way a gentleman would open car doors for ladies.
There is something to be said for thoughtfulness.
Like when you aid a mother trying to enter a building struggling with opening the door and pushing her stroller through.
Being attentive to our surrounding is key to exercising excellence.
Missing it from time to time, I am guilty; but I do try to stay alert for moments to showcase friendliness and politeness.
It is amazing how an act of consideration can impact a persons day.
Just simply seeing a need and assisting speaks volumes about our character as we show others they count.
The generations must be sensitive and aware to passing down courtesy.
If courtesy gets lost, we will have a culture filled with causal courtesy.
Casual courtesy again is without definite or serious intentions.
We must guard against a self-absorbed world, where it is all about “ME”
Saying thank you and please are still welcomed.

Showing kindness is not a trend but a matter of the heart.
As parents we must teach our children.
As adults we must use the principles we were taught.
Do not be rude to others.
Respect your elders and those in authority.
Get your face out your cell phone long enough to look a person in the eyes when you speak.
We must all work harder to maintain a polish elegance in our encounter with others.
