The mess up that worked!

Planing and preparing is very important.

I love order and organization.

Being able to get things done and move in excellence makes me so very happy!

But what happens when things don’t go the way you planned?

Years ago when my schedule got interrupted with unexpected drama I panicked.

My perfect world was messed up and becoming challenging.

The overload of panic led to a melt down that changed my thinking.mom-meltdown_tmjpiq

With all my planning, there was no room for the “Unexpected.”

My life was on a strict timeline, with no room for mess ups!

Before you judge me, get the facts.

Back then I was a stay at home mother of 7 children under 9.

Getting a shower, and a hot meal was a precious moment on some days.

If I did not schedule we would be living in chaos and then you would really judge me!

Anyway back to my story.. the melt down from the unexpected was a huge lesson to learn.

Coming to terms with the reality of my need to be flexible was painful.

Being comfortable with only getting 5 things complete on my list of 40 had to be acceptable.

The mess up was not about a particular thing, but rather my life.

I had finally found a life rhythm and was enjoying it.

Realizing that I could not control every area of my world, woke me up to being open and ready for the unexpected.

Since recovering from that messed up moment, I have encountered more episodes than I care to recall that knocked me off my rhythm.

Although I learned to be flexible, I also learned that plans and preparation will always be a must for my life of success.

Today I look back and celebrate my accomplishments.

My accomplishment of raising a family, serving my community, leading others, empowering women and still in my right mind:)

That day that messed up my schedule and planning, worked for my good and greater success.

  1. I’m definitely a fan of plan and prep. Eliminates extra anxiety from disorganization. Great content! I’m looking forward to future posts.
