Once shame gets a hold of your life it promises to keep you locked down in condemnation. Anyone who has ever experienced shame knows exactly what I am talking about. It enters in through deep feelings of guilt and despair and threatens you not to tell anything to anyone. The heaviness that forms on your soul and mind can be compared to a boulder that is placed upon a small infant, leaving no room to breathe or live. Shame will try to give you a life sentence but I want you to know you do not have to accept it. There is a way to be free from the falsehood you have been living; You know the one that makes others think you are good, successful and smart while living in a prison kept by shame as your warden. You can begin today to face the darkness in your life that oppresses you and decide this is not how you want to live any longer. The silence you have been committed to that says, “Never talk about it” must be broken. Listen carefully to what I say next….Shame can not exist in silence!! It has a voice but does not want you to have one. It will not be easy; but you MUST begin to talk about what happened in order to break the chains surrounding your life. You will feel emotions that you can not put words to, but that is simply because you are talking about something you have never shared out loud with anyone. Again your voice gives you power and weakens the voice of shame…People judge you any way so don’t focus on that. People will always have their opinions don’t allow that to distract you from your freedom. Open your mouth and TALK!! Find someone who will listen and just tell it. Cry through it!! Feel the Pain!! Hear your voice tell your story. Use your key to communicate and begin to break Free!! The more you tell the story the stronger you will become. Shame feeds off your guilt and silence. Remember this will need to be a deliberate decision on your part. It will take courage. Remind yourself that you are valuable and deserve to walk in total freedom and happiness. Repeat after me…NO MORE SHAME!!
