It is annoying when you tell others what you are about to do and they look at you with eyes of disbelief. They may not say the words but their facial expression screams,”YOU THINK YOU CAN DO WHAT?” They may even ask, “How do you plan on getting that done?” People can create a flood of doubt in you if you allow them. It takes a confident and strong mind to resist falling into the deep end of negativity from others.

So you think you can dance? The question is posed to the contestants before they ever enter the stage. Basically it is saying we will be the judge of what you say you can do. That is exactly how it appears at times in our life; as if there are people sitting on their soap box evaluating you at all times. The judges of “I know all things” sit and watch you perform to see if you really are able to do what you said you can do. I wonder what those contestants think when they get out on stage? Are they confident as they were before they came to the show? Is failure the most prominent thought on their mind or success? If I were up on stage I would be so nervous, then second guess myself.
Our life is on a stage and surely many are watching and judging us without us even realizing it. Good thing to remember is that everyone is not a judge and those on the sidelines end up being great cheerleaders.
The truth is, when others are not in our life to support, encourage or have our backs, they become judges. Everything in us requires courage to showcase our talents and skills to a world that questions can you do that?

Wresting with the concept of knowing I can do something and allowing others to review and view what I can accomplish will cause anxiety and excitement all at the same time. That place you always wanted to be you finally arrive. The destination of “I CAN!!” Nothing is going to stop me, no one will hold me back, but then those simple words attack you as a Ninja coming out of nowhere and you are left beaten.
Who are these people we give so much attention to? Why are they given power to tell us we can move to the next level or round in live because they see something special in us. Truth is, if we do not see the special in us it will never matter what others say. Life has awarded us those who will encourage us to go and fulfill our dreams as well as those who would stand tall and judge us. Is the verdict really for others to say, or should we just show up and show out so they can see what we said would come to pass?
So you think you can start a business after failing to build one the past 5 years? You think you can go back to school being a single mom with no support after your fourth child? You think you can stay married to a man who is out on disability and be the bread winner? So you think you can be the first to make history in your family and buy a home? You think you can educate people about finances when you filed bankruptcy 3 times? Questions leave us thinking we need to explain how we plan to make it happen, truth is there is only one answer….YES I CAN DO IT!!
Be assured in these facts, there will always be doubters, supporters, judges, accusers, and friends who are assigned to your journey. Learn how to take everyone in your life and allow them to make you the best you ever. You may not appear to others to have the goods, or what it takes, but we were told never judge a book by the cover. So if you think you can do what purpose has placed in you to do; go ahead and do it!!
