Get a life!

If you find yourself consumed with every else’s business, and the details of their life, its possible you need to review what is going on with you.

Many people become obsessed with what others are doing for varies reasons a couple being these; they think someone else has a better or more flamboyant life than them.

How many hours are spent on reading gossip about entertainers and celebrities?

How many hours are given to scrolling Facebook pages, and looking at twitter to see what others are saying about someone else?

This may not be a popular subject but its something that needs to be said.

Before I write more let me make sure you understand where I am going…this post is about being consumed with others that you fail to live your own life to the fullest.

We commit hours to things that will never give us a return, bring joy or increase us in knowledge.

The person who makes the loudest noise usually gets the most attention, but that does not mean their life is wonderful!!

Lets do some self-examination real quick. Here are some questions to ask yourself.

1. Do I spend time during the week doing things that improves me, or shows I care about me?

2. Do I spend time in gossip, sharing or listening to it more than 2 hours a week…remember this includes whose baby daddy it is…what celebrity is sleeping with who… and what is your co-worker wearing….

3. Have I called someone in pretense to inquire what is going on but camouflage it with a caring voice?

4. When was the last time I really looked into myself and made plans to improve and give back to others?

5. Can I stand up against being the odd ball if I get a life.

If you answered yes to more than 3 questions you are in need of a life!!

You may be grumbling right now as you read this …I have a life, I do what I want and who is she to judge me!!

No judging here…I have too much flaws to throw bricks, stones or accusations:)

Whenever you are asking more questions about others and it’s not on a need to know basis you could be border line nosy.

Let me just say I was once that person…I wanted to know so much about everything and everyone. Then one day it hit me; I was consumed in knowing about other people’s business and it bothered me not knowing. After a long examination and confession to myself, I decided it was unhealthy for me to live this way and made the steps to change.

Being a mother of seven it was easy to always be in someones business, but it was not always healthy as time went on. There are some things in life I really do not want to know; not about my spouse, children or neighbors!!

There are many perks to not knowing everything about everyone. Let me share a few I experienced.

1. Since being retired from the company of busybodies, I have found freedom to grow and explore more things.

2. More peace, now that my mind is not cluttered with everyone’s junk and mess.

3. Time; did you know thinking and looking into other people’s life takes up time

4.New relationships. I was able to build more genuine relationships now that I was only looking for people who I can build their lives and who can build mine:)

5. Knowledge that allows for growth…a mind is a terrible think to waste

Today I challenge those who have been a slave to this place called “no life” to vacate and start building in a place called life and life more abundantly.

Please do not be like I was years ago; busy looking into other people’s live I had no time to invest in mine.

Choose to start learning, growing, building new relationships and expanding your borders as you embark on your “LIFE”
