Fast and Furiuos

cheetah and track runner

Adrenal, sweat, applause, and cheers all go together in a great race. You can see yourself run across the finish line, or if you are racing a car you see yourself as the winner. Who wants to be the loser, the second best, or the next best. We are groomed to win, be the best, be the fastest, be the smartest; always out do your competition and never let them see you sweat.

There is something addicting to being the best, being number one and always winning. Once we taste of that fruit called great success, we are hooked. While I am one who loves winning and being the best, I also realize that this way of living comes with a price as much as a prize.

Being best means living a life that is fast-moving, quick, sharp, filled with sacrifices and at times can be overwhelming. The price tag for winner may be higher than we really can pay. Don’t misunderstand me, I am all for excellence, giving your all and doing great, but I am no longer for the fast track where I battle fear, and anxiety as I see someone better than me. Its my desire to live a life that is productive, but not at the cost of losing everything.

Most of us need to do a reevaluation on how we pursue and conquer. There are seasons and certainly moments where we must move quick, move now, seize the opportunity, but there are times we must breathe and slow down. Don’t allow the responsibilities of life nor your drive for success bring you into a lifestyle of fast and furious; where one day you crash and burn. Take the time you need to reflect, revise, and relax. Produce at a level where you are winning, just without the competition. Be  your best, and commit your all to marriage, family, education, business, and career.

Open your mind and heart to a new perspective on winning, and choose to be the one who outlast those who paid a price that was too costly
